# Setting Up Your Tip Menu

> Create custom tip menu items so fans can purchase special experiences from you

The tip menu lets you sell custom experiences — things like personalized photos, voice notes, shoutouts, or anything else you want to offer. Fans browse your menu, tap an item, and pay in OVIBE. You keep **80%** of every tip. 20% goes to the platform as a service fee.

## How the Tip Menu Works

1. You create menu items with a label, description, emoji, and price
2. Your tip menu appears on your creator profile
3. Fans browse items and tap **Purchase**
4. The fan's OVIBE balance is charged
5. A system message is sent to your DM channel with the fan, notifying you of the purchase
6. You fulfill the request (send the custom photo, record the voice note, etc.)

  Tip menu purchases are delivered through DMs. When a fan purchases an item, a DM channel is automatically created (or the existing one is used) and a system message announces the purchase. You then follow up in that conversation.

## Adding Items

Go to **Tip Menu** in the sidebar of your Creator Dashboard.

Each item has:

| Field       | Required | Limit            | Description                                   |
| ----------- | -------- | ---------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| Label       | Yes      | 100 chars        | The item name fans see (e.g., "Custom Photo") |
| Description | No       | 500 chars        | Details about what the fan gets               |
| Emoji       | No       | 10 chars         | An icon displayed next to the item            |
| Price       | Yes      | Must be positive | Cost in OVIBE                                 |

You can add up to **10 items**. Reorder them by setting the sort order, or deactivate items you want to temporarily hide without deleting them.

## Popular Item Examples

Here are common tip menu items and suggested price ranges:

  Start with 3-5 items at different price points. You can always add more later. Having a mix of low-cost (10-25 OVIBE) and premium (100+ OVIBE) items captures fans at every budget level.

## How Tips Are Processed

When a fan purchases a tip menu item:

| Step              | What happens                                                              |
| ----------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Fan pays          | OVIBE is deducted from the fan's balance                                  |
| Creator credited  | **80%** of the price goes to your balance                                 |
| Service fee       | **20%** to platform operations                                            |
| DM notification   | A system message appears in your DM thread with the fan                   |
| Push notification | You receive a notification: "\[Fan] purchased \[Item] for \[Price] OVIBE" |

### Example

A fan purchases your "Custom Photo" item priced at 50 OVIBE:

* Fan is charged: **50 OVIBE**
* You receive: **40.00 OVIBE** (80%)
* Service fee: **10.00 OVIBE** (20%)

  Fulfill tip menu requests promptly. Fans who feel ignored will unsubscribe and may leave negative feedback. If you cannot fulfill a request, message the fan to explain.

## Managing Your Menu

### Editing items

Tap any item to update its label, description, price, or emoji. Changes take effect immediately for new purchases.

### Deactivating items

Toggle an item's **Active** status to hide it from your menu without deleting it. Useful for seasonal items or when you are too busy to fulfill requests.

### Deleting items

Remove an item permanently. This does not affect past purchases — fans who already bought the item still have their DM thread.

### Reordering

Set the **sort order** on each item to control the display order on your profile. Lower numbers appear first.
